Chilton Rogers

Ms. Chilton Rogers is currently the Assistant Director of the Appalachian Regional Development Institute (ARDI), an outreach and service program of Appalachian State University in Boone, NC.

She has extensive work experience in the public sector with research and empirical aspects of economic, especially entrepreneurial, development and small business and business incubator development as Assistant Director of the Southern Technology Council, a subsidiary group of the Southern Growth Policies Board in Research Triangle Park, NC and as Innovation Director of the North Carolina Technological Development Authority in Raleigh, NC.

Before joining ARDI in February 1999, she was co-owner and business manager of an automobile dealership in Chapel Hill for 11 years.

Ms. Rogers, a journalism and political science undergraduate major, earned a J.D. degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (1983) and an M.A. from The George Washington University School of Public and International Affairs (1981).
